Background

St Pancras Chambers, National Portrait Gallery, and the Palace of Westminster, are amongst just some of the historic and nationally important buildings that are water mist fire suppression protected.

In Cambridge, iMist™ designed, installed and retrofitted 20+ nozzles and a domestic pump in The Towers; a heritage-listed building. This 1908 Arts and Crafts, substantial Grade II listed Edwardian house is full of features, including decorative moulded ceiling roses, dado rails and open fireplaces.

Solution

All of these features at The Towers needed to be fully protected from the devastation a fire would cause. We worked closely with Building Control and all involved in heritage restoration to ensure our installation did not alter the look or cause damage to any part of the property.
