Electrical Installation Guide

We have created this handy installation guide to help ensure your project runs as smoothly as possible.

As outlined previously, any incorrectly installed components may result in an additional visit, which would be chargeable. If you have any questions or concerns about your requirements, please contact your Project Manager as soon as possible.

Note: We can't confirm wiring from photos, but we can check positioning and components. This must be checked and signed off by your electrician in line with the provided schematics.

Normally-Open Priority Demand Valve

  • iMist™ recommend the Normally-Open PDV be supplied via an unswitched fused spur with a neon indicator. A 2-core cable connected to the pump would be terminated at the other side of the fuse. The neon is lit up when a fuse is inserted, meaning the supply from the distribution board is present.
  • The size of MCB to supply the unswitched fused spur would depend on the PDV supplied (if iMist™ supplied, then 10 amp).
  • The size of fuse to be installed within the unswitched fused spur depends on the current load of the PDV (if iMist™ supplied then 10 amp).
  • Power should be taken from the dedicated electric supply to the iMist™ pump to minimise any disruption to an iMist™ activation.
  • All cables required to be fire-resistant as per guidelines in BS 7671 18th Edition and BS 8458.
  • The connections have no voltage supplied from the pump.
  • There is a 16mm nylon gland for insertion of the PDV cable.
  • UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE IS THE iMist™ PUMP TO BE USED TO SUPPLY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE PRIORITY DEMAND VALVE.
